ETSY SPOTLIGHT: SHAYAARON

How do you like your macaroons, pain au chocolats, cupcakes, Gouda cheese, avocados, salmon steaks, peanut butter & jam sandwiches and tacos?

WHY, DANGLING FROM MY EARLOBES OR AROUND MY NECK OF COURSE!

The level of detail = mind blown!

Shay Aaron makes these BLOODY BRILLIANT wee treats out of polymer clay and resin and I'm sure you'll agree that they ACTUALLY DO look good enough to eat... Especially that hot fudge brownie with ice cream...

Awesome work Shay :)

The pizza-slice earrings are probably my favourites - what's yours?

PS in case you can't tell, I AM STARVING right now!

PUGS IN HATS, YO

What's that?

It's London Fashion Week you say?

Oh, I hadn't noticed as I've been SUPER busy PMSLOLLING at these adorable pics of Pickles the pug posing in an assortment of ridonculous, hand-knitted hats!

CURRENT ETSY GEMS

Apologies, this is a bit of a bumper post you guys. Over the past few weeks I've been cultivating my Etsy favourites into a list of absolute MUST HAVES. Money's tight at the moment but come next pay day, one, several or all of these beauties will be mine. MWUHAHAHAHAA!

Also, just wanted to say a big fat HIYA to my lovely new followers :) If you don't know me, this wee compendium is pretty indicative of the things I'm into, fashion-wise.

vintage Hole tour tee. It's like £50 but so worth it, right?

Dennis the Menace chic.

Summer perfection.

Dreary Glasgow "summer" perfection

Bought. Ama get SOME slaggin.

I'm heading to Portugal for a week in May and this would be perfect for the beach.

Clip-on silver kitty earrings. My life is sorely lacking in animal jewellery.

So, whaddya reckon? I'm finding myself more and more inspiration on Etsy and Ebay thesedays - can't remember the last time I logged on to Topshop and was impressed. Really not feeling their weird, in-between-season offerings at the moment. Shiny sports luxe is so not my thang.

PS REGISTER to come along to the International Women's Day blogger meetup event on the 8th of March! You can bet your ass I will NOT stop yakking on about this... :) x

HAPPY HALLOWEEN/YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBOURHOOD GOTH

What a shock, I'm completely unprepared for Halloween this year! Seriously, it's SO unlike me, I've literally found myself with 2 days to come up with an awesome costume for a night out in town. DRAMZ! I still love both the dead Cleopatra, and last year's Bowie idea, but I'm just NOT confident in my own make-up artistry to pull them off or do them proper justice - especially Bowie. I defo don't wanna half ass Bowie. That's like some sort of crime.

Anyway, with a wardrobe already full-to-bursting of sheer black, cobweb knits, leather, platforms, PVC and fishnets, I expect I'll probably just pull together some kind of Gothic/witch attempt for Sat night. Cop out? Possibly. Still, work with what you got I guess.

In my dreams though, my uber-cool, thrown together Goth/witch outfit might look something like this...

Love this fishnet body suit from Tarantula Sisters - an Etsy fav of mine. I'd style it almost the same as they have, only with some high-waisted leather shorts instead. Loving the 90s black triangle bra too.

Looks a bit bare though, so I'd chuck on some intense body chains for extra Goth.

Chains available from Snefter on Etsy.

Instead of the classic witchy shoe, I'd go for the iconic Jeffrey Campbell Litas in black leather. They say, "I'm evil, but I'm sexy with it," right?

And OBVIOUSLY no self respecting Goth/witch would be seen dead (mwuhaaahahaaa) without her awesomely spooky Illamasqua green lip gloss. Duh.

Finally, yeah you could wear a witches hat but why would you want to when you could wear this amazing, creepy, vintage black wedding veil?

SHUDDER! Finish the look off with a spooky black cauldron for a bag (or PVC coffin backpack - we all had one!), a black cat, broomstick or a bunch of fake black roses...

SAWWTED!

ETSY SPOTLIGHT: D4NE2D33P

AKA Yard666sale, this shop is possibly my most favourite on Etsy at the moment. I've already bought two things from them (vintage Rancid tshirt and religious iconography long-sleeved top, OBV) and am itching to get my paws on more tacky, trippy, witchy 90s gear.

Just check these awesome photos. I wanna be a D4NE2D33P grrrl SO bad.

So aye, this shop is amazing and these pictures are the coolest things I've seen in a loooong time.

GAHD, as Bee and Lisa have both pointed out, there's at least several hundred things on in Glasgow tonight which I can't go to as I'm back working heinous full-time shifts at my old joabby. BOO. So instead, when I get in ama make like Tavi, dress up like a goth and lip synch to Taylor Swift... PLAN.

Oh, Tavi. YOU belong with MEEEEE! Amazeballs.

Sorry if this post was pathetically lacking in any real insight much beyond the likes of GEE GUYS THIS SHIZ IS WAY COOL. Working full time is zapping all my energy at the mo. That and some inappropriate mid-week drinking *ahem*
