Girl of the Day - Jennifer Garner

Seems like a nice person, too.   And Ben Affleck is no dummy... he's turned into a helluva director, especially in Gone Baby Gone.   (I liked The Town too, but Gone Baby Gone was great, and Affleck's brother, Casey, was great in it.)

Oh, and she turned 40 today.... how did that happen?

Irony Abounds

Yesterday was Emancipation Day, celebrating the freeing of the slaves.

Today is Tax Day, celebrating the re-enslaving of Americans to a never-sated Leviathan government.

I'm just sayin'.   We get testy here at the Regular Guy's house when we have to write checks of a certain size.

Star Style For Less - Ashley Judd's Floral Sun Dress

Ashley Judd makes an easy breezy Spring worthy appearance on the set of Extra in LA in the baby yellow floral sun dress. The satin sash belt and gold shoes add the color and the glamour to make this outfit worthy of a star!! I love the colors, the print and the ruffles of this pretty feminine dress!

New Purchases! MAC Mascara and Prada Glasses

New Mascara and new Glasses!
Hey everyone :) these are pictures of the new mascara I got from MAC and these new Prada glasses that I got today. I will do a review of the mascara once I've actually used it and take pictures of myself actually in the glasses. Enjoy the pictures!

New Glasses
I went to for an eye check up today and  my mum decided that it was time I needed new glasses [I'd been wearing broken ones with thick pieces of tape on the sides for about a year and I just wouldn't leave the house wearing them haha!  They told me that I needed to wear my glasses more often if I wanted my vision to improve so I had to actually buy glasses that I could wear. In case you were wondering, the glasses are called "Prada PR 10FV" and the frames are plastic. So far I think they are amazing- most people usually buy the black and pink version of these glasses so I bought the orange to be slightly different [I would have bought different frames since these ones are so common but none of the others suited me as well as these!]
Enjoy looking at my new glasses!

Is a Painful Childbirth all in Your Head?

This is a question that is massively poignant to me, and isn't one that I ask lightly. Seasoned medical professionals and women who have experienced painful births are no doubt baring their teeth. Whilst I don't wish to trample on their experience, I am due to give birth in six weeks and I'm hoping that the title to this piece may be truer than we are currently able to anticipate.

Since becoming pregnant I have explored my options. In doing so I discovered 'Hypnobirthing - The Marie Mongan Method' and my education in natural, empowering birthing began. Whilst I've not yet put the theory to the test, I am already a superfan of the possibilities hypnobirthing holds.

Hypnobirthing starts from the premise that the pain commonly felt in childbirth is not a natural side effect of birth but rather it stems from fear. Women in our highly medicalised society are ingrained to believe that birth is frightening and as they go into labour the feeling is often one of terror. This terror may have been welling in them since childhood when stories of their own birth were recounted, or from the horror tales put to them throughout their life. A pregnant woman is often not reassured by her friends gleeful recitations of tearing, cutting, blood loss, vomiting, labors that last a week and the howling screams coming from a woman in the next room.

This understandable, but culturally driven fear naturally provokes the body's fight, flight or freeze response. All physical energy is directed away from the birthing process and a lifetime of anticipating great pain becomes true, surgery occurs, episitiotomies are dosed out, drugs are taken and birth becomes a medical traumatic situation.

MULBERRY COACHELLA POOL PARTY

Mulberry always seems to throw the best parties! Here's some snaps from their Coachella pool party in Palm Springs the other day, where Kasabian and Wild Belles performed to a crowd of gorge celebs decked out in Mulberry threadz... But where was Lana Del Rey or Olivia Palermo? Del Rey has a new (surprisingly demure bowling-style) bag out in her honour and Palermo never misses a Mulberry do? Oh well, Kate Bosworth was there in spades so I guess that kind of makes up for their absence.

Here's an awkward photo of Emma Watson shamelessly over-accessorising that cute playsuit. I've always had a hunch that Emma has horrific personal style and counters it with a good stylist. BUT WHERE WAS SHE TODAY, EH?

Omnipresent Bosworth.

Cute-as-a-button Lily Collins with Emma Watson again. I mean, even if she just took off the cardigan and the belt, surely that would make this a million times better, right?

I love Lily Collins.

Bikini-clad beautiful person.

Collins and Bosworth posing their wee hearts out. Bos could do with toning it down a tad. Still, loving those lime-green earrings. Pop!

Dree Hemingway needs her roots doing but it's cool cos she's wearing a distractingly-gorgeous dress/top and skirt so you hardly notice really.

Cara Delevingne working the I-just-fell-out-of-bed-and-shoved-my-washing-pile-back-on look. WARNING, do not re-create unless you are a model. Consequences are disastrous, trust me.

Tali Lennox looking smugly chic, if only it wasn't for that belt. Yee-Haa! By the way, do any of you follow Tali on Twitter? She says some SPECTACULARLY STUPID things! Go see what I mean. Utter tubular belle.

Anyways, I'm not doing any Coachella Fashion posts or anything because I'm already sick of them and let's be honest, festival fashion never really changes. So predictable, blergh.

YES I'M BITTER I'M NOT GOING TO ANY FESTIVALS THIS YEAR, WHAT OF IT'?

JANUARY JONES' BEST COVERS

This post is definitely more than a little creepy but y'all probably know by now how much I absolutely adore January Jones (ultimate girl crush) and I've been promising a "why I love Jan Jones" post for ages so consider this the first installment.

Reason 1: She never does a bad cover. Ever.

BOOBS.

This last one is more than a little racy for a dreary Monday morning, but hells, LOOK AT THE RACK ON THAT! Fierce.

Plus, as Betty Draper, you've gotta admire her parenting style...

"Go bang your head against a wall."

Is it weird that this makes me love her more? It definitely is. If you haven't seen Mad Men you need to. IMMEDIATELY.

Anyway, Love ya Jan Jones.
