BLACK MILK X JEFFREY CAMPBELL

What happens when notorious galaxy-print legging-manufacturers Black Milk team up with the hipster shoe-porn creatives over at Jeffrey Campbell for a limited edition collection of footwear?

THE WORLD EXPLODES IN A BURNING BALL OF COOLNESS!

No, obviously, that's ridiculous. But actually, the result is some PRETTY AWESOME shoesies...
Loving how well those last pair tie in with my last post :) Ahh sweet symmetry.

These limited edition wedges are only on pre-order at the moment but will no-doubt fly off the shelves when they go on general release in the next month or so. Whaddya reckon, you likey?

A Touch of Bronze

BAD FASHION AND AWKWARD POSES: KCAs 2012

The Kids Choice Awards are a hard one to dress for, CLEARLY. Its held during the day, Will Smith is hosting it and it's to do with kids so you don't wanna rock up in Altelier Versace, but at the same time it's still an awards show, there's still a red orange carpet and your picture is still going to be in all the magazines the next day. Tough balancing act, right?

Here are some slebs from this year's awards who found striking the perfect balance HARDER THAN MOST. And some who just can't pose for toffee...

Not even a SMUG GRIN and pink shoes can stop that black dress looking BORING

I know I'm SUPPOSED to like this look but I just don't. I hate that you can see the white lining of her skirt (cheap) and all that makeup makes her look about 45.

I don't know who this is, but she needs to CLOSE HER LEGS.

Oh God, what the hell are you doing here Heidi Klum? Also, looking more than a little past it in this getup. PS how about ditching that stony-faced stare next time. You're giving me the creeps.

That awkward moment when your mum looks like a TOTAL FUD on the red carpet and majorly embarasses you in front of the world's press.

I'm confused and disturbed in equal measure.

"Hey, I know what'll ruin this otherwise perfectly acceptable salmon short-suit! Hideous grey shoe boots."

Oh my God. Prom gone wrong.

Smize at me all you want, I'm judging you cos your dress is WAY SHORT and you totally know it.

Do you put your hand on your hip or leave it down? It's hard being Selena Gomez.

Now for the QUEEN of awkward red carpet poses. These pictures made me actually BAH-HA out loud. Kristen Stewart really out-did herself this time in the standing-like-a-man stakes, and I kind of love her for it. Such a dork.

Are you hiding a football up there?

It's almost physically painful.

Ouch.

LITTLE BLACK DRESS

Pretty unexciting post for y'all - sorry! Still working all hours at the moment and haven't had much of a chance to peruse the shops or get inspired recently.

But even I couldn't fail to notice that the weather has suddenly got a lot more spring-like these past few days which prompted me to pick up this little number...

Black knitted slouchy dress from Boutique at Topshop

Picture it with bare legs, long silver necklaces and some black Ray Bans...

Can't help but think this is the perfect thing to ease me into summer. It's casual and comfortable looking and I love the semi-sheer effect of the open knit. Hopefully this will come up as long and slouchy as it appears in the picture - Boutique stuff does tend to run slightly oversized, I've found.

PLEASE stay nice into the weekend so I actually have somewhere interesting to wear it other than the office, my car, Cessnock co-op and my house...

MAGIC MAN

This is a very weird, jumble of a post - apologies. Welcome to my brain.

So recently I've been getting RIGHT BACK INTO older Style Rookie posts (not even ashamed. So what if Tavi is like 15, she's the coolest person I've never met) especially the room inspiration/teen shrine
posts from last year, a la this:

I love the jumble of garish colours and sentimental nick-naks like SO much. But, I mean, you'd never know by looking at MY room, right?

Yes, Tavi is my God. And what?

The 70s vibes of the Virgin Suicides propaganda along with the Catholic pin and crucifixes and stuff got me thinking sartorially so I checked in to see if American Gold on the Spanish Moss site had any new deliveries. They didn't, but their existing gear is still right up my street. Kinda TeenWitchy, sorta 70s, a little bit Fleetwood Mac, a tad dark and occult... Perfect.

Pretty awesome, I'd be happy with any of these pieces for spring. Specially that last dress.

Unfortunately American Gold can be a bit expensive (try stupidly over-priced) so I'll be scouring more Etsy and eBay shops for my spring/summer fix. Actually, Spanish Moss themselves do a great line of vintage finds too (anyone remember when they started out as an aBay shop just like Nasty Gal? I fear I'm showing my age here!), but again only for the super rich. Nonetheless, here are few of my faves:

Perhaps not the most practical for strutting along Kilmarnock Road and maybe not everyone's cup of tea but pretty to look at :)

I'll leave you with the song I've had running round my head all day... Turn it up LOUD now.
